Race Directed by: Jeff Bond

For only the second time in Canada, a Rider vs Runner race at the scenic Souris Riverbend Wildlife Management Area will be held in cooperation with an Endurance Riding Event on Saturday, September 2.

Runners compete against horse riders over a 25-mile course with river crossings, steep climbs and descents with approximately 2,000 feet of gain/loss. It has a tight 6-hour cutoff, but last year the runners whooped the horses in 4 1/2 hours.

The riders and horses seek revenge and have trained since early spring to regain the title.

The cost is $45, and the proceeds go to the Equestrian Club that maintains the trails at this location.

There is camping there or at Jeff’s place.

Message Jeff Bond for more information and to sign up at jmbond@xplornet.com.
