Spring Trail Cleaning on April 23

MATR is super excited to host our first trailwork day in 2022 in the form of an urban trail spring clean-up just in time for Earth Day!

Spring cleaning groups will take place in Winnipeg, Kenora and Brandon on Saturday, April 23rd starting at 10:00 a.m. at the following locations:

• Bois-des-Esprits, Winnipeg

• Whittier & Gabrielle Roy Trails, Winnipeg

• Churchill Parkway, Winnipeg

• Tunnel Island, Kenora

• Hanburg Hills, Brandon

In Winnipeg, Take Pride Winnipeg and Recycle Everywhere have been kind enough to provide us with some supplies. For our Winnipeg sites, we'll provide garbage bags, clear bags (for recyclable items), extra gloves, and have a limited number of garbage pickers available.

Please bring a bag or two for garbage collection if you are in Brandon or Kenora area, as well as gloves to protect your hands if you have some.

Tip: Consider using gardening/work gloves or a pair of running gloves that can be thrown in the washing machine after to help reduce waste from disposable gloves. Rubber dishwashing gloves work great, too!
