Single Track Sundays #3

  • 49.00845471405431, -98.27412239241916 (map)

When: ~10:30 am at the trailhead
Where: Pembina Valley Rim Trail Pembina Valley Provincial Park
Carpool Info: 8:00 am at Big Sky Run Co at 194 Taché Ave. Please arrive on time if you'd like to carpool.

We encourage everyone to participate at their own pace. We'll have a MATR organizer on the run, but you should feel free to run as fast or as slow on the route as you feel comfortable. Please be mindful of your own abilities and effort and adjust your run accordingly! Listen to the signals your body is giving you! We plan to run for 2-3 hours. Since this is a looped trail and anyone wanting to run more than 1 lap will come past the parking lot, cars make excellent refueling stations.

The Pembina Rim Trail is an approximately 6.5 km loop with ~179 m of elevation per lap. This is a well-marked and established trail with a number of other well-marked intersecting trails and should be easy to navigate. This trail isn’t particularly technical on the footing, but there are some serious climbs to conquer. View or download the route and save it to your run watch if you have a navigation function. Note you may travel in either direction on this trail. Review or print the MB Parks map.

The trailhead is located off PR 201, which is accessible from PTH 31, south of Darlingford, from PR 432 south of Morden, and from PTH 32, south of Winkler.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and effort.

This is a self-supported run. Pack your own water/hydration and snacks for the trail. Depending on the weather, we may hang out for a bit post-run. Feel free to bring snacks or beverages to share afterward.

There are long-drop/outhouses on site.

Hot Tip: Have a change of clothes and shoes for the ride home.
