Can you help us with trail work on May 13, 2023?

We’ll work on a portion of Centennial Trail from Lily Pond access to Bear Lake access, in Whiteshell Provincial Park. We'll continue work on the trail in prep for Suffer on the Centennial. This event is a collaboration with Backcountry Women.

When: ~10:00 am at Bear Lake/Hanson’s Creek trailhead
Where: Centennial Trail, Lily Pond to Bear Lake
Carpool Info: 8:00 am on Prosper Street across from the Tim Horton's at 646 Archibald St, Winnipeg, MB

Plan: Expect to cover ~9.5 kms over 4-6 hours of trail maintenance on the Centennial Trail in Whiteshell Provincial Park. We’ll be working on a stretch from the Lily Pond access to Bear Lake.

Pit toilets available at Bear Lake trailhead.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and effort, as we are planning this outing regardless of temperatures.

TIP: Have extra food, dry clothes, and shoes for the ride home.

What can I expect to be doing?

  • Participants will be required to use hand tools like loppers and/or portable saws.

  • Participants should be able to carry a pack with their own water/snacks for the day as well as have the stamina to cover the hike into the more remote areas of the trail MATR is responsible for.
